meaning manages changeover at BAA

15 October 2007
London's Gatwick Airport, one of seven international airports owned and operated by BAA

Faced with the need to switch from one supplier to another for its major retail profile survey , BAA turned to meaning ltd for advice on who to contact. and how to proceed. From this, meaning was engaged to carry out two related projects - an evaluation of the potential suppliers, leading to the contract being awarded to a new supplier; and following that, the management of the handover process - a complex four-party dialogue.

After a busy transition period lasting most of a year, handover was safely achieved to the satisfaction of BAA, with much of the anxiety and burden of managing the change process shouldered by meaning.

"Meaning was good value for money for us", comments Matt Titterton, Customer Insight Manager at BAA, who considers it was especailly useful to have Tim Macer from meaning representing them and managing their project. “Tim was a mediator. He was the realist, the neutral party. He is really well known in the industry, and knew both agencies."

Case Study: A happy landing for BAA
